Be Mine - Chapter#10

"Take this to Moosa's Bhai study."
Yawar heard Shahina's voice from the kitchen and he quickly stride towards it, promising himself that he won't let her go until she talks to him.

Yawar made sure that the made left the kitchen before he enters and that's what happened. He found Shahina crouching down trying to pick up something from the floor. Hair long hair were tied in a loose bun and a shawl was covering around her shoulders.

He approached the shelf beside her and picked up her teacup. The aroma of the tea she brews is always refreshing, that's why everyone is so found of it. Including him, but he doesn't have the luxury of requesting her like others. He could only order her to make it and he often did in the past. However, now she is almost out of his reach.

Sensing another presence she abruptly stood up and turned around, only to frozen. Shahina stared at his face for a second before her eyes fell down on the teacup in his hand. She literally glare at the cup as it was it's fault to be in Yawar's hand. But soon she noticed the changes in his hand, it looked like a hand of a grown man, just as Moosa and Ahad. She dared to raise her gaze once again and quickly dropped it on finding him observing her.

"Finally I caught you Chipkali (lizard). Why were you avoiding me?"
Shahina didn't answer. It was obviouse that she doesn't want to see him but she couldn't say it out loud.

"Have you lost the ability of hearing?" He asked stepping towards her and continued looking at her both ears, "But I don't see any hearing devices."
Yawar noticed she tightly hold the corner of her shawl, perhaps his question angered her.
He smirked and say, "Your shawl is beautiful, it looks good on you."

Shahina looked at him as he has lost his mind.
"I am not joking. This dark brown colour suits you the best, it matches with your face." He said taking a sip from her cup.
"Perhaps that's why Ahad Bhai chose it for me." Shahina murmured in her anger and stormed out of the kitchen. Leaving Yawar in astonishment.

He stare Shahina rushing out of the kitchen as he compared her to the girl he left a year ago. The girl he once knew always preferred sweaters and hoodies to protect herself from the cold, who was always seen in braids, who liked to wear dull colours, who never dare to show her anger has somehow changed a bit.

And Yawar couldn't helped himself to be mesmerized by her. He remembered the bands that covered her forehead making her look cuter than before but what made Yawar's heart flipped was Shahina's retrieving form. What he saw wasn't a naive girl he loved to tease but an elegant woman he wished to possess.

"What's wrong if I ask my daughter for a cup of tea?" Ahad asked leaning back on the sofa in Moosa's office at the Main House.
A frown formed on Yawar's face as if he was unable to understand what he meant but he didn't say anything. Moosa wasn't here yet, so Ahad got some time to tease his target.
"Haye... Jane na jane, gul hi na jane bhagh to sara jane hai. (Expect the flower itself, everything in the garden knows the fact)." Said Ahad letting out a  dramatic sigh.

Willingly or not but Yawar kept dropping the breadcrumbs and they were quick on picking them up. They realized his feelings and intentions towards Shahina, yet chose to remain silent. However for Ahad, it was a different case. His nature didn't allow him to stay still, especially after taking guardianship of Shahina* and by the look of Yawar's face, Ahad guessed that he didn't know about it.
"Allow me to break this news for you. Your beloved, I mean to say our beloved Shahina is my official daughter from now on."
"What?"

"I am her guardian now." Ahad smiled holding his mobile in had and call Moosa. He did it intentionally to stop him from inquiring further and to irked him even more. The next moment Ahad witnessed Yawar leaving the office in anger and his smile widened.
A small revenge for teasing my daughter for so long...
