Moosa offered Shahina to go with him to the Valima venue, and she reluctantly agreed because he rarely asked Shahina for anything. But it turned out to be a wrong decision when she noticed every single person observing her as she entered side by side with Moosa. At one point, she thought of hiding behind him but his guards, who were walking just behind them, made it impossible.
Moosa introduced her to a few guests but on noticing how uncomfortable she was, he told her to take some time alone and she gladly accepted it. Shahina quickly spotted the farthest area but before reaching there, she heard Ahad calling her out.
“You are not going to congratulate me?” Ahad said coming towards her.
“Congratulations on your wedding.” Shahina tried to smile but failed as she found someone behind Ahad smiling at her. It was Sarmad’s younger brother Muntaha whom she met a long time ago, in the main house. Feeling awkward by his continued gaze she changed her position so his view could be blocked by Ahad’s frame.
“Have you met my wife.” Shahina shook her head.
“I just came with Moosa bhai.”
“It’s a good thing that you came with him, try to stay near the people of the main house, okay?” Shahina nodded, although she didn’t understand why he instructed it.
“Good, I need to greet some guests so you can go and meet Kanwal with Nats. Oh, and allow me to let you know that my daughter looks very beautiful today.” He gave her a thumbs-up, as he went away. She smiled at his gesture, talking with Ahad was not troublesome for her anymore and for some reason, Shahina started getting comfortable with him, as she was with Moosa.
“So, it’s you.” A voice came from behind and her body stiffened. She turned around and came face to face with Yawar.
“What have you done to your face?” He frowned and continued, “Is it distemper paint that you applied? You looked like a bhootni (female ghost).”
Shahina looked at him in complete shock, she wasn’t expecting such a reaction.

Shahina was taken aback by his remarks, he expected that, but he didn’t feel any guilt about it. Perhaps it was because of his habit of teasing her, or because he felt anxious about her being the center of attention.
The moment Shahina came walking side by side with Moosa, Yawar instantly forgot the anger he stored for her for the past few days. The sight in his view was mesmerizing and it was hard for him to avert his gaze, but he did. He didn’t remember Shahina looking so beautiful before and this thought brought a smile to his face.
However, after a few minutes, the smile vanished, upon noticing that every second man was staring at her. Yawar never liked sharing what belonged to him, especially Shahina, the girl who was most precious to him. Her beauty and innocence were his to adore and he would not allow her to be a showpiece that can be admired by many.
“Are you pretending to be deaf?” Asked Yawar.
Tears welled up in Shahina's eyes and she quickly lowered her head to hide it.
“No need to create a scene over here. I didn’t say something for you to cry. I was just giving my honest opinion.” Yawar mumbled loud enough for her to hear.
He looked around as if making sure how many people were paying attention to her, “At least you should’ve asked someone before leaving the house. Didn’t you see how everyone is staring at you?”
Shahina did notice and it was overwhelming for her. Therefore, she was unable to comprehend the meaning behind those looks. She was a frog in a well and her naivety in understanding people was on another level. And that’s all Yawar needed to give the final blow.
“Obviously, Amma-Bi wouldn’t say anything. She is too old to understand the current fashion and of course, MB is out of the equation too, as he is a man with no interest in women, let alone in their fashion.” And Shahina’s tears start to slide down her cheeks.
Yawar frowned, “Do you have tissues in your clutch?”
Shahina nodded in response.
“Good, now wipe your tears and go the restroom, it will be better if you remove your make-up and try not to humiliate us.”
Upon hearing this, Shahina took a deep breath and said something in a very low voice. Yawar was unable to hear her but she didn't stand there to explain either. After an hour or so Natasha told him that Shahina had gone home and no one knew the reason.
I know the reason...
But he couldn't say it out loud.
I want to go home too...
He glanced at the exit and let out a deep breath.
She was playing hide and seek from him. He was desperate for answers and she kept ignoring his.
Shahina has totally forgotten how she was ignoring him since last week, it was obvious that it annoyed him but she never thought that Yawar will take out his anger on her like that. He insulted her, made her cry and forced her to go back home and she did, because her gentle heart couldn’t take the remarks he made.
