Why are you doing everything by yourself Amma-bi? where is Chipkali?" Yawar asked when he saw Amma-bi working alone in the kitchen.
Despite being in her late sixties, her health is way better than the people of her age. Yawar always thought that they wronged her by calling Amma-bi. As if she was a very old woman, however, she liked it very much so he didn't bother to give her a different title, just as he gave to Moosa, 'MB'.
"I told you a thousand times, stop calling her that."
"Then what should I call her?" He asked, taking plates from her hand.
"Shahina, just like everyone else."
"I am not 'everyone else'."
Something in his tone of voice made Amma-bi turn to him.
"Then who are you?"
"I am Yawar, the great person who shared his Amma-bi, MB, and Nats Api with her. She is my subordinate." As soon as those words left his mouth, he received a slap from Amma-bi on the back.
"What? It is the truth." He chuckled.
"Try saying this in Moosa's presence."
"He wouldn't say anything. Not even hit me like you did."
"Why are you so sure?"
"Because nowadays he always increases my workload instead of scolding me on something. That aside, where is she?"
"She had a headache so I asked her to rest a little bit more."
"And where are the maids?"
"Their shift starts late on Sundays."
"Hmmmm... Tell me what else to do. I'll help you out."
"You don't have work today?"
"I have, but I'll manage."
"Allah bless you. I have already prepared the breakfast. Besides, it's just you, Moosa, and me."

At the table, while eating Moosa asked Amma-bi about Shahina and Yawar's eating speed fastened as they came near the topic of her coming home early last night. He stood up from the table as soon as he was done with the meal and left the dining room.
Yawar knew that he couldn't get away from what had been done, however, he never thought that Shahina would take his words so seriously. He was a bit restless about thinking that she might have spent the whole night crying but he couldn't do anything about it.

When Yawar entered the room, Natasha threw a dress before him. Remembering that it was the same dress Shahina wore yesterday, he crouched down and picked it up.
“What’s wrong Api?” Knowing very well what might have happened, Yawar still tried to put up a nonchalant face.
Natasha was angry, very angry. She came to the main house in the evening to meet Shahina, as she was also worried about her, especially when Amma-bi told her that she cried all night. Natasha couldn't hold herself back from coming here and kept nagging her until she spoke up but with the request to keep it to herself. Shahina even stopped her from telling Amma-bi. Although Natasha was unaware of the reason for it, still she agreed to it. However, when Shahina dejectedly hands over her dress saying that this dress is made for beautiful girls. She swears to give Yawar a good scolding which he never forgets.
"Yawar, she returned the dress to me."
“Why are you telling me, it’s not like I asked her to do that.” He said, putting aside the dress.
“Then, what exactly did you ask her?” She folded her arms and lowered her voice as if she didn’t want anyone else to hear their conversation.
“I simply told her to remove her makeup.”
“Why?” At this, Yawar just looked away and didn’t answer.
“I am asking a question Yawar.”
“She was attracting a lot of eyes.”
“And what does it have to do with you?”
“What do you mean by that?” Yawar frowned and continued, “I don’t like it, especially when men stare at her.”
Natasha let out a deep sigh and sat on the sofa near her.
“I don’t understand you at all… you can’t impose your likes and dislikes on her.”
“My likes and dislikes?” Yawar arched his brows, “Are you saying that you are okay if men stare at her? And you wouldn’t mind her being uncomfortable with it.”
Yawar’s argument left Natasha speechless, her anger was still there but Yawar was twisting her words cleverly.
“Yawar, come here. Sit down.” Natasha patted the seat next to her. He silently obeyed and sat beside her.
“Listen to me, and listen very carefully, both you and Shahina are not kids anymore. Therefore, it would be better if you distance yourself from her. You know very well that she isn’t the type of a girl who would be friends with a boy. Means, there will be no friendship between you two, so stop forcing her on your whims.”
“Who wants to be friends with that girl?” Yawar asked as if Natasha said the most ridiculous thing in the world. On which, she got irritated.
“Yawar, get serious for once.” Natasha scolded.
“I am extremely serious, Nats api. I am always serious when it comes to her. She was never my friend nor she will ever be. I don’t think of her like that.”
Hearing his answer Natasha sat straight and asked, “Then, what do you think of her?”
“I don’t think I have to spell it out for you Nats api.” He looked at Natasha and smiled, “I like her.”
