“I hope you know what you are saying.” Natasha said, completely unfazed by his confession. She expected to hear this one day or another but not so soon.
“So, ... you knew it all along, Api. Yet you are scolding me for being protective of her.” He said leaning to put his head on her shoulder.
“Correct your dictionary, Yawar. It wasn’t protectiveness.” Natasha backed away, reminding him that she wasn't giving in.
“Whatever it was, I don’t regret my actions.”
“Have you seen her face today?” Natasha’s tone was harsh, “Her eyes swelled. I have never seen her like this since she came to this house. You claimed to like her, yet you made her cry like that. I can’t even imagine what that over-sensitive girl has thought throughout the night… No, Yawar. You can’t justify yourself. Whether you call it protectiveness or jealousy.”

Yes, jealousy…
Yawar finally realized the emotions he felt at that time. He was jealous because everyone was staring at her, his most precious person.
He inhaled deeply, “If my apology can change anything then I am ready to do it.”

“I am afraid I can’t answer that.”
Yawar rubbed his temples and said with a bitter smile, “I don’t think she wants to meet me right now.”
“At least you understand that much.”
Of course, he understands it. He understands Shahina more than anyone else. Still, he made up his mind to meet her.

She was sitting alone in a corner of the library, avoiding as many gazes as possible. The book on the table was opened wide, and a pen was in her hand, probably she was taking notes before diving into thoughts.
Usually, it was Shahina's routine to get home before sunset but today she was late. Therefore, Yawar decided to check on her. Of course, he didn't tell anyone. He wanted to meet her before

going to "Mansoor Manzil" to continue his studies. It was a house in a small city near the eastern border of the state. He doesn't like that place, because he has to live only with a few members of the Black Eagles, but it is a test. A test he must pass to show his credibility as third in command of Black Eagles. He was the one who accepted this task without anyone forcing him but sometimes it irked him and the thought of being lonely again made him restless. That's why he was willing to take this chance, knowing very well that Natasha would be angry at him again. However, for some reason, he was relaxed after confessing his true emotions for Shahina. As if, it cleared his own cloudy thoughts.
Yawar silently walked over to the table where Shahina was studying and sat on the chair before her. She jumped in surprise and instantly her eyes widened on realizing who was there with her.
"If you dare to stand up I will create such a scene here that you won't be able to come to this library again." Yawar threatened when she changed her position to get up.
"Sit down and listen to me." Yawar said, leaning on the table between them. Shahina sat straight but didn't raise her gaze.
"I am sure you know that I am leaving tonight." Shahina didn't answer.
"I take that as a 'yes'... So I was thinking of taking you out for dinner with me." Shahina's head snapped at him and in return, he only smiled.
"Again... I am taking your silence as 'yes'."

"No... Amma-bi is waiting for me." She abruptly spoke up and Yawar's smile winded.
"This is the first time you say 'no' to me." Shahina frowned at his absurd attitude, yet remained quiet. He was carefully observing her every moment and it was making her anxious.
"Don't worry about Amma-bi."
"I cannot go." She said in a low voice, slowly gathering her stuff from the table.
"Listen to me Chipkali," He grabbed her pencil on the table before she could pick it up, "I didn't come here to be rejected by you and besides, I am telling you to go with me. Not asking you."
"It's not right." Shahina shook her head as her eyes started to get blurry.
Yawar noticed it and before she started crying he offered her, "Then, we could grab something to eat on the way, instead of going to a restaurant.
"Amma-bi -"
"Amma-bi won't say anything, all you have to do is blame me. Besides, she doesn't have to know everything going on in your life."He leaned forward to the table and continued, "Learn to keep some secrets."
Shahina looked at Yawar as if he had grown horns on his head but abruptly lowered her gaze when Yawar stared at her back.
He was actually enjoying the moment, they never had the chance to talk like that. Shahina's weak protest and her struggles were cute. Resting his chin on his hand, Yawar kept looking at her, as she was still thinking about how to get out of this situation.
This is fun…
I should’ve tried it earlier….
"Shall we leave?" He asked in a quiet voice.
Gingerly, she stood up from the seat and started walking towards the exit. Yawar was quick to catch her, he was walking just behind her, like a guard on duty. However, the stare she felt behind her, wasn't something she experienced before. It was making her uncomfortable but she couldn't do anything about it, except for speeding up her pace. Praying in the heart for a miracle to happen.
