Since Mahnoor's arrival in the Main House, everyone got busier than usual. At first, it was about taking care of a girl who had been abducted by the owner of the house, and now it is because of the wife of the Black Eagles' boss. Things needed to be changed on Moosa's floor for this new family member, and thanks to it, all of Amma-bi's attention was diverted towards it. Giving Yawar a chance to meddle in Shahina's life as much as possible. What she does, what she eats, what she cooks, he intervened in everything.
Whenever he wanted something, he directly knocked on Shahina's door instead of doing it himself or asking a maid. He even ordered her to wear extremely loose clothes while going to the library, and Shahina did whatever he wished. She wasn't a person who could easily say 'no' to others and especially not to Yawar. She always obeyed him like it was the most obvious thing to do. Furthermore, since returning from Ahad's house, she felt that many changes had occurred in the Main House, from interior to personalities, Moosa, Yawar, and even Amma-bi, they weren't like before.
Her Moosa Bhai, whom she adored, sometimes seemed like a villain to her, who forcefully married a girl and no one stepped him. As if they were partners in crime. She was confused, how and why everyone closed their eyes about it. Nats told Shahina that Moosa liked Mahnoor for a long time and he loves her, but what does love really mean? She wanted to ask Natasha.
She witnessed Ahad's love for Kanwal and now Moosa's for Mahnoor. She also remembered Natasha's story about her being in love and how that man betrayed her.
Love is a synonym of misery?
She wondered very often but never asked anyone. Perplexed by her own thoughts, Shahina spent her days quietly. Well, she wasn't a talker before, but now her silence was concerning, especially for Yawar. He feared that if her elder sister or other family member approached her again, she might agree to go to her family. And if she chose it, he knows no one from the Main House or even Ahad would stop her. All of them will accept her decision, and he alone didn't possess the power to stop her. It's her life, and she has the right to make her own decisions, and his feelings didn't mean anything to her.
Will you really leave me?
Thought Yawar was looking at Shahina, who was coming downstairs with a tired look on her face. She had this expression since she came home from the library, and he couldn't understand why.
"Hey chikpalli (lizard)." Yawar called her, and she instantly stopped in the middle of the staircase. Yawar stood in his place, taking slow sips from his water bottle and looking at her, but instead of answering him, Shahina turned around and hastily went back up. Yawar was quick to chase her, but she succeeded in going into the room and locking it.
"What kind of behaviour is this? Come out right now." He slightly knocked on the door.
"I know very well that you are listening, now don't pretend and come out." Again, no movement from the other side.
"You will regret this, Miss. Mark my words." He threatened her and went back.

Yawar didn't get the chance to meet Shahina for a whole week after that day. He got busy with his work and his studies. His exams were approaching, and he had to deal with his work before going back to his house. Whenever she got some free time, Shahina was unable to be seen. Therefore, he stayed home for a whole day to catch his Chikpalli (lizard), and he found her working in the kitchen after lunch.
She was washing the dishes when he approached her from behind and threw a plastic lizard on her shoulder. A small scream escaped from her mouth as she stepped away, dusting her shoulder, and bumped into Yawar, who came just behind her. Startled, she tried to move away, but he held her by the shoulders.
"Careful, or you will fall." Shahina didn't hear what he said, she just wiggled free from his grip and turned around to leave the kitchen. But Yawar quickly grabbed her dupatta to stop her, and she did.
